Shah Rukh vs Salman at Filmistan once again

Like petulant kids who still hold grudges, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan completely avoid each other despite shooting not more than a few hundred meters apart

There was a palpable tension in the air yesterday evening at Filmistan Studios in Goregaon. Friends-turned-foes Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were there shooting for their respective projects.

Nothing happened. The units on both sets expected a confrontation that never took place. The warring actors kept to their vans.

Says a source, "Salman has been shooting for Atul and Alvira Agnihotri's Bodyguard for the last few days in Filmistan on the the third floor. SRK began shooting on the first floor.

Sallu was shooting a crucial scene and so SRK's entry had everyone on the Bodyguard sets on tenterhooks."

It's a known fact that the two actors haven't made their peace since a feud that began at Katrina Kaif's birthday party three years ago.

Adds the source, "It was all fun for the Bodyguard unit and the shoot was moving along smoothly. SRK's visit made them go into a tense huddle though shooting continued as normally as before. No-one knew how Salman would react to his dushman being in the vicinity."

While it is known that Sallu's sisters-in-law, Seema and Malaika are still friends with SRK, it is lesser known that Atul and Alvira are very close to King Khan too.

"Atul and SRK's friendship goes way back. It was expected that Shah Rukh would drop in to meet Atul on the sets, " notes the source.

That didn't happen. "SRK would leave his van and just go to the studio and shoot as would Salman, who is otherwise known to sit outside his van chatting with his friends and people who drop in to meet him.

The Bodyguard unit finally heaved a sigh of relief after Shah Rukh left around midnight."

Always Kabhi Kabhi: When Shah Rukh became teacher

SRK gave acting lessons to a bunch of budding actors working in his next home production

King Khan would often turn teacher and teach acting to the young actors who star in his home production Always Kabhi Kabhi (AKK) which is being directed by Roshan Abbas.

Narrating his experience, Roshan said, "When I would narrate scenes, Shah Rukh would hear them and start enacting the scene.

It was a treat to see him play out the scenes himself. He would interpret and change lines, which helped get the right emotions. We often rewrote the scenes after watching him act, as he would say things that we had written in a paragraph, in just a look."

Creative freedom

Roshan added that in spite of his busy schedule, SRK was actively involved during the shooting of the film. "Shah Rukh saw bits of the shoot after every schedule and made suggestions.

Shah Rukh's inputs started with the language, as kids today speak very differently.

He encouraged us to talk to teens and shared his experiences. Besides, his inputs in music were invaluable. However, he let me have a free hand when it came to creativity."

Buzz is that Roshan had written the play Grafitti from which Always Kabhi Kabhi has been adapted.

Roshan said, "Graffiti was about kids passing out from school in 1999 while AKK is set in 2010. While the emotions remain the same, the language and mediums of communication have changed."

Though Shah Rukh has produced the film, he didn't act in it not even a guest appearance. Roshan said, "Our leads are four teens with a few teachers and parents forming the other people they play off against.

No role was big enough for Shah Rukh to play and I wouldn't waste him in a cameo. His inputs and support is what we needed and you will see his touch in the promos."

Nikhil Dwivedi's reception: Salman came, Shah Rukh didn't

Nikhil Dwivedi's marriage reception was held at a rooftop lounge bar on Linking Road on Monday. The actor tied the knot with Gaurie Pandit on March 7. While Nikhil preferred to wear a waistcoat, his bride kept it simple in a black dress. Among the first to arrive were Arbaaz Khan and Farah Khan (we overheard her telling Gaurie that she was underdressed for the occasion). Shirish Kunder walked in later and stayed till late while Salman Khan dropped by, post-midnight.
Salman sported a tee bearing religious symbols. There was an

PS: Everyone expected Shah Rukh Khan to come considering his closeness to Nikhil. But he preferred to skip the occasion. Blame it on Sallu being invited for the reception? Pics/ Satyajit Desai

Did Hugh Jackman come between SRK, Hrithik dosti?

Hrithik Roshan and wife Sussanne weren't invited for King Khan's impromptu party for Hugh Jackman

B-Town is abuzz about the dosti mein daraar between Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. And Hugh Jackman's to blame!

Apparently, Duggu and Sussanne are miffed with SRK and Gauri for not inviting them to the bash at Mannat, held especially for the X-Men star.

The party was an impromptu affair post the FICCI Frames event. Khan's pals made a dash to Mannat immediately after. The Roshans, notably, were absent despite being close friends with SRK and his begum.

It came as a big surprise to those present given that the couples are almost always seen at each other's parties.

Says a Bandra source, "The Roshans, it appears, were sullen at being left out of the revelry." The story doesn't end there.

Two nights later, the Roshans held a bash for a high-end luxury brand. It was a planned event with several B-Town folk in attendance. The Khans were not extended an invitation. Tit for tat?

Adds the source, "The Roshans claimed that the event was only for few close friends. But SRK and his gang who were present for Jackman's party were left out." Clearly, bruised egos at work.

The stars remained unavailable for comment.

SRK's Ra.One gets Rs. 40 crore for satellite rights!

The film's satellite rights have been sold for Rs 40 crore -- the highest for a Hindi film

At R 40 crore, Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One has set a record of sorts. That's the amount a channel has paid for the satellite rights to the film. And this, long before the film is even due for theatrical release! What's more, it is the highest amount paid for a Hindi flick's satellite rights.

Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots previously held that record at a commanding price of R 36 crore. It was bought by the same channel.

Reveals a source, "Shah Rukh is completely involved with every area of the film's marketing and branding. He's not only sitting with experts and drawing out several strategies, but is also coming up with his own.

The film has a huge budget, so obviously, as a producer, he wants to make as much money through pre-release distribution avenues."

Big scale

In the recent past, other Bollywood releases like Guzaarish, Dabangg and Tees Maar Khan were sold to different channels before release. Ra.One will be publicised in a huge way. Since it has multiple Hollywood talents working on it, the scale of promotions will match it.
