Aronofsky Joins In Portman Dance Defence

Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky has waded in to defend Natalie Portman amid allegations she relied on a dance double to perform most of her complex ballet moves in the Oscar-winning film.

The star, who won a Best Actress Academy Award for her role as a troubled dancer, has faced growing criticism following claims a stand-in was used to complete most of the film's spectacular sequences.

The body double - American Ballet Theatre star Sarah Lane - boosted the speculation by insisting only "five per cent" of the ballet scenes were acted out by Portman.

Portman's fiance - and the film's choreographer - Benjamin Millepied, as well as studio bosses at Fox Searchlight have come to the actress' defence.

Now Aronofsky has spoken out to silence Portman's critics, saying, "Here is the reality. I had my editor count shots. There are 139 dance shots in the film. 111 are Natalie Portman untouched. 28 are her dance double Sarah Lane. If you do the math that's 80 per cent Natalie Portman."

The moviemaker goes on to admit digital techniques were used twice during editing, to superimpose Portman's face over Lane's, revealing: "There are two complicated longer dance sequences that we used face replacement (on)."

He adds, "Natalie sweated long and hard to deliver a great physical and emotional performance. And I don't want anyone to think that's not her they are watching. It is."

Portman's co-star Mila Kunis has also slammed the claims: "Natalie danced her a** off. I think it's unfortunate that this is coming out and taking attention away from (the praise) Natalie deserved and got."

Black Swan Bosses Respond To Portman 'Body-double' Critics

Bosses at movie company Fox Searchlight have issued a statement to address the growing criticisms of Natalie Portman's Oscar-winning role in Black Swan.

The star scooped the Best Actress Academy Award for her turn as unstable dancer Nina in the film last month, but has since faced claims a body double was used for most of the complicated ballet dancing scenes.

The stand-in - American Ballet Theatre dancer Sarah Lane - has fuelled the speculation by telling Entertainment Weekly, "Of the full body shots, I would say five per cent are Natalie... I do want people to know that you cannot absolutely become a professional ballet dancer in a year and a half no matter how hard you work. I've been doing this for 22 years."

Now Fox Searchlight bosses have issued a statement to address the criticism. It reads, "We were fortunate to have Sarah there to cover the more complicated dance sequences and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did. However, Natalie herself did most of the dancing featured in the final film."

Portman herself has yet to comment on the controversy.

A for the actress’s performance in psychological thriller movie she had managed to bring out the disturbed mental state of her character in a most convincing way. Thus having captured that troubles psychological condition in a realistic way it had provided onlookers a gripping experience. It has been said that she had trained for the role of ballerina for months and according to choreographer of the movie Benjamin Millepied most of the dancing had been done by actress herself and only for about fifteen percent of the acting that a body double had been used.

However as cit has been claimed by Sarah Lane who was the body double for Natalie Portman this had not been the case and the star actress had only done a five percent of acting which means that most of the dancing routines had been carried out by her. Elaborating on the matter Sarah Lane had gone on to say that producer of movie had wanted to minimize her involvement in movie as much as possible and they had made sure to highlight the fact that actress herself is doing all the full body dance scenes. Recent claims made by actress also includes that she feels left out for not getting any credits for what she had done.

However it should be noted that when it came to Natalie Portman earning an academy award for her piece of acting it had been assumed that it was actually her who had done the impressive dancing scenes. This assumption had enabled the star to gain more popularity in the Oscar race as well. Another matter which should be noted here is that it does not appear quite acceptable that Sarah Lane had come up with this revelation when everything is said and done. So it appears that it is somewhat inappropriate from her part. So it remains to be seen whether actress will have some say in the matter.

It was originally reported by TMZ.com that the ring of hackers who accessed the Gmail accout of Vanessa Hudgens in order to leak nudes of her did the same to the emails/ cells/ and mobile devices of 50 celebrities, all of whom were women. Today, adding to a
report from Friday, the list is broadened still; it’s no longer ’50 celebrities,’ it’s ‘over 100 active email addresses of celebrities, politicians and sports stars.’ Whatever, at this point. So long as they leak. Fap folders don’t compile themselves. Moreover, you may be interested to know, the reported nude of Scarlett Johansson was posted online last week. No one posted it elsewhere, of course. But I’ve seen a poorly censored version. It shows her with a towel hanging down to expose the back part of her body as she looks at herself nude in the mirror. In any case, there are more names to add to the list of those whose emails were compromised and images stolen: ‘Natalie Portman (Oscar winner for Black Swan), Lindsey Vonn (Gold medal skier in 2010), and Carly Patterson (all-around Gold in gymnastics in 2004).’ TMZ adds, ‘We’re also told Dianna Agron from Glee has been targeted as well. And a prominent 17-year-old actress was also hacked… though we’re not releasing her name.’ Any guesses as to the 17-year-old? Portman 'Victim Of Email Hackers'

Natalie Portman has been named among a growing list of stars who have allegedly been targeted by a ring of internet hackers.

The Black Swan actress, Glee star Dianna Agron and Olympic athletes Lindsey Vonn and Carly Patterson are said to be among more than 100 celebrities and public figures who have allegedly had their email accounts illegally accessed, according to TMZ.com.

The website reports officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are looking into the allegations but have not made any arrests.

The investigation is reportedly linked to the nude pictures of Vanessa Hudgens which were leaked online last week (ends20Mar11).

Heroes star Ali Larter, Cougar Town's Busy Philipps, Scarlett Johansson, Miley Cyrus and Jessica Alba are also among the alleged victims who have reportedly had personal photos and other compromising material taken from their computers and cell phones.

Natalie Portman Needed Rehab Post Black Swan

Natalie Portman has spoken again about her experiences filming the movie that won her an Academy Award. Rather than take a break once Black Swan wrapped, Portman went to work on Thor. She now says she probably shouldn’t have done that and instead allowed her body to recover from the Oscar-winning role. The 29-year-old told Total Film, ‘I loved Darren Aronofsky and working with him was a deeply fulfilling experience but I just showed up for Thor spent.’ Adding, ‘I probably should have gone into rehab.’ She also revealed her desire to work with director Kenneth Branagh on Thor was because she’d always been a fan of his work (he’s an extremely well-known actor and director, who I recognise most readily from his role in 1994′s Frankenstein). She added, ‘I must have watched Much Ado About Nothing about 500 times, I love that film so much.’ Noting of her experience, ‘He was one of the first people I’ve met that I was excited about when I met them [and] when I worked with him, it exceeded my expectations.’

Penelope, Natalie are sexiest stars

It may be the last thing on their minds but pregnant stars Penelope Cruz and Natalie Portman have beaten off competition from Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston to be named the Sexiest Stars of 2010 in an online poll.

While Cruz, 37, is eight months pregnant with her first child, Portman had announced earlier this week that she too is set to become a mother.

In an online poll at Fandango.com, Portman, 29 was voted the Sexiest Woman in 2010 movies by men, while Spaniard Cruz was the women's poll leader. The website's male respondents voted Johnny Depp and Ryan Reynolds the joint Sexiest Man in 2010 movies, while the women picked Depp ahead of Robert Downey, Jr.

The voters in the Christmas weekend online poll also chose Blake Lively as the Next Big American Movie Star.
