Royal Wedding Dress To Go On Display

Fans of Britain's royal family will be able to get a close-up glimpse of Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge's wedding dress when it is exhibited at Buckingham Palace in July.

Over two billion people around the world watched Prince William marry his bride on 29 April, and were left in awe of her traditional white gown designed by Alexander McQueen's protegee Sarah Burton.

Fashion and royal followers alike will now be able to appreciate the design when it goes on display at Queen Elizabeth II's London residence in the U.K. capital from 23 July until 03 October.

The dress will be on view along with the Cartier tiara, earrings, veil and shoes worn by the duchess on her big day, as well as the multi-tiered wedding cake which the happy couple cut in front of guests.

A statement from couple's spokesperson says, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to give members of the public the opportunity to see, close-up, the skilled British craftsmanship that went into various elements of the wedding."

The William & Kate Vanity Fair Cover Released

Vanity Fair has already released the July 2011 cover that features a never-before-seen engagement photo of the British royal couple, as taken in November/ December. The cover was taken by Mario Testino, as was the July 1997 Princess Diana cover taken by Testino 14-years ago. I can see why they didn’t use this photo before the wedding and why they left it out of the wedding’s promotional material. It’s nothing like as nice as the other engagement photos. It’s dark, oddly-composed and unflattering. It shows the sides of the couple’s faces and distorts their otherwise good-looking features. Along with the cover, Vanity Fair has posted an excerpt from the article. ‘Despite Will and Kate’s new official titles, duke and duchess, respectively, [William] made it clear at the wedding that he will continue to be addressed as Prince William, meaning Kate by default will be Princess Catherine, reports Vanity Fair writer Katie Nicholl. This may rattle some family hierarchies; the Countess of Wessex had wanted to be known as Princess Sophie, but had been forbidden by the Queen. The newest royal couple grace the July issue cover, with an exclusive portrait series by Mario Testino. The issue hits newsstands in New York and L.A. on Thursday, June 2, and nationally, in print and on the iPad, on Tuesday, June 7.’ Yeah, so it’s going to be out earlier than I’d expected but I guess it’s a normal July release date.

Testino has given an interview about photographing the couple to Nicholl, who also writes for The UK’s Mail On Sunday. Testino felt ‘very confident,’ photographing Kate Middleton, because of her natural grace. Asked why he’d been chose to take the photographs, he replied, ‘I guess it was a way for them to keep William’s mother in the whole process of it.’ Testino said that the couple exuded ‘sheer happiness,’ before adding, ‘They are a young couple in love.’

Floral Displays in the Abbey and Buckingham Palace

The Couple have taken a close interest in the designs, which follows a theme that pays tribute to the Language of Flowers

Prince William and Miss Middleton have chosen London-based floral designer Shane Connolly to create the floral displays for their wedding on April 29th. Mr. Connolly has directed a team of florists, including Westminster Abbey's and Buckingham Palace's florists, and florists individually chosen by the Couple, to create the floral displays at the Abbey and for Buckingham Palace.

Mr. Connolly was chosen by the Couple owing to his reputation for producing elegant and unique displays, and for his creative approach which focuses on using seasonal, natural and organic flowers. Mr. Connolly is also well known for his sustainable approach to floristry, which incorporates as much as possible the use of growing, rather than cut, plants and trees.

The Couple have taken a close interest in the designs, which follows a theme that pays tribute to the Language of Flowers.

The floral displays in Westminster Abbey feature a variety of seasonal growing and cut British flowers and trees sourced from Royal Estates and other growers around the country. The flowers and plants include blossoms, azaleas, rhododendron, euphorbias, beech, wisteria and lilac.

The floral displays in the Abbey will include eight 20 feet-high trees: six English Field Maple and two Hornbeam. All the trees will be growing in planters, which have also been designed by Mr. Connolly and which were made by craftsmen at Highgrove, The Prince of Wales's Residence in Gloucestershire.

After the wedding, the flowers and plants will be left in position in Westminster Abbey for the public to view until Friday 6th May 2011. Following this, many of the trees will be taken to Highgrove Gardens, where they will be planted. The Couple's intention is that many of the cut plants and flowers and all the growing plants will be donated to charities or re-planted.

Notes to editors

The trees, plants and flowers are being sourced from the Saville Gardens and Valley Gardens in Windsor Great Park, Sandringham Estate and other English growers.

Will Kate Middleton Really Have Six Hairstylists for Wedding?

Even a princess-to-be doesn't need that much hair help!
Reports by Britain's Daily Mail that Kate Middleton will have six stylists tending to her wedding day 'do are untrue, reveals a source
t will be James Pryce, Richard Ward and their team," an insider tells UsMagazine.com of the longtime royal hairdressers.
Still, the two top stylists will have plenty of help on hand getting Middleton, 29, and her wedding party ready for the April 29 nuptials to Prince William, 28. "The pair will have assistants, each working with Kate and the bridesmaids on the day," adds the source. "No other salon or company will be involved, however some of the assistant stylists might be working on a freelance basis."
Accenting Middleton's perfect tresses? A tiara from the royal family collection. Though she has 80 to choose from, the frontrunner is the $10.5 million Strathmore Rose Tiara, which underwent a restoration for the big day. A palace official told Us, "Many of these tiaras have not been touched for almost a century."

Get Know Your Royal Fam! Meet William & Kate's Mates 'n' Mums

On April 29, two families are set to merge in the biggest blowout of a nuptial that the world has seen in three decades, as Prince William plans to marry Kate Middleton.

On one side, we have Britain's royal House of Windsor, chock full of bluebloods and biddies in fabulous hats. On the other side, the Middletons, what snobs often call "new money"—a onetime middle-class bunch that made a fortune in the party supply business while raising the presumed future queen of England.

How do the two clans stack up to each other? Which family has the biggest party animal? The most eligible bachelor? The cutest dog? Let's find out in a brand-new meet the fams gallery, shall we?

Kate Middleton's Favorite Burger Is 805 Calories!

In the past few months, I've read many guides claiming to offer an insight into Kate Middleton's London life. Yes, Kate did once hang out at the likes of hot London clubs like Boujis, Kitts and VanQuatro, but those party days and late nights are long gone. These days Kate likes to keep it regal!
1. Richard Ward, in the Sloane Square neighborhood

Where else can our tour start other than Kate's favorite salon? The Middleton girls have been keeping their manes glossy here for years (her sister Pippa was in just last week!), but did you know this is also where Kate, 29, gets her nails manicured? "Kate comes in and out quite regularly," a local tells me. "She's stealth!"

PHOTOS: Adorable! Kate and William's romance

2. Peter Jones, in the Belgravia neighborhood

Ah, the department store where Kate bought that Issa dress. And she's still going back for more. I hear on March 25 Kate and Pippa were on the second floor, perusing the ladies fashions. (Also spotted? Kate with two cellphones - would love to know what that second line is for!).

PHOTOS: How Princes William and Harry have grown up

3. The Ebury Brasserie, in the Pimlico neighborhood

This reasonably priced brasserie is where Kate's been known to sneak away by herself and enjoy a little reading and a bite to eat. It's not for the calorie conscious (Kate's favorite Ebury burger clocks in at a gigantic 805 calories!) but it is conveniently located around the corner from Buckingham Palace.

4. Harbour Club, in the Chelsea neighborhood

This isn't just any old gym. When we spotted Kate here with a girlfriend in February, the pair stayed on after their 90-minute cardio workout for massages and dinner at the club's gourmet restaurant. Both Kate and sister Pippa are members of the luxury health club (where the joining fee alone is around $3,500!).

5. The Kings Road, in the Sloane Square neighborhood

Sloanie paradise! Last month, Kate ended a busy day of meetings (for charity work and wedding planning) with trips to her favorite stores - LK Bennet , Reiss and L'Occitane.

6. Clarence House, The Mall

Okay, so technically this isn't a hangout. But Kate has spent almost 50% of the year at this former home of the Queen Mother. It's a (literal) stone's throw away from neighboring St. James' Palace, and also the official London residence of Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, Prince William and Harry. The best part? It's open to the public during summers.

Who's for tea?

Official Royal Wedding coin goes into production at the Royal Mint

The Royal Mint has unveiled the official UK coin commemorating the wedding of HRH Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton.
The coin, which is being struck to commemorate the wedding of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton, has gone into production at the Royal Mint in Llantrisant, South Wales.
Approved by the Royal Household and the Government, the coin features relaxed, modern portraits of the couple, an approach also evident in the informal use of their names and the date of the wedding circulating their portraits. The obverse bears a portrait of Prince William's grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen.
The coin has been designed by Mark Richards, Fellow of the Royal Society of British Sculptors, following an invitation-only tender process involving a handful of British sculptors. His submission was selected by the Royal Mint Advisory Committee, a panel made up of experts in art, design, history and heraldry, chaired at the time of the decision by Sir Christopher Frayling, former Rector of the Royal College of Art.
Mark Richards said: "It's a tremendous honour and privilege to have been chosen to design the Royal Wedding coin. As a sculptor I'm used to working in 3D, so my specific challenges were not only capturing the nuances of Catherine Middleton and Prince William's features, but also faithfully rendering their expressions in such a small space. I was inspired by what I think is best summed up as the spirit of 'friendship in love'. It was important to me to capture the relaxed intimacy of a modern couple, without compromising the historical significance of the wedding itself."
Kevin Clancy, Director of the Royal Mint Museum said: "The Royal Mint has produced coins for the British Monarchy for over 1,000 years, and while this latest coin features the country's future King and Queen, it is actually a coin for the people who want to commemorate the Royal Wedding with their own piece of history."
The coin is also available to purchase in the precious metals silver, gold and platinum.

Prince William, Kate Middleton Considering Australian Honeymoon

Prince William may be headed Down Under after he ties the knot with Kate Middleton at London's Westminster Abbey on April 29.

While visiting the areas of Australia affected by last month's Cyclone Yasi, the 28-year-old tossed the idea around with reporters.
"It's much nicer down here; the weather at home is dreadful," William said Saturday (via The Telegraph). "I will have to come back. Maybe we'll have a honeymoon in Cairns?"

After all, William added, "I love scuba diving. I have always wanted to dive the Great] Barrier Reef."
If he and Middleton, 29, should decide to honeymoon elsewhere, William vowed to return with the princess in several weeks time.
William's three-day tour of Australia continues with a trip to south-east Queensland, where he will visit towns affected by flash floods that killed more than 20 people in January. On Monday, he will visit flood-ravaged parts of rural Victoria before returning home to Middleton.

Kate Middleton shows off her toned body in white bikini

Images of Kate Middleton showing off her toned physique in a sexy white bikini while holidaying on a boat in Ibiza have been unearthed.
The images were taken when the princess in waiting and Prince William were holidaying back in 2006.

Since 29-year-old Kate began her relationship with Prince William, who will soon touchdown in Australia, she has slowly transformed herself into a royal.

And with the royal wedding just seven weeks away, Kate is said to be keeping her slim figure and her image in top form.

But how does she keep herself looking so good? She relies on regular work-outs and blow-dries, says Katie Nicholl, royal watcher and author of William and Harry: Behind the palace walls.

"Kate is always perfectly manicured, and she will have blow-dries before she goes out," she told Us magazine.

"Now, she has a full entourage in tow, the enormity of what she's in is finally sinking in."

Middleton's Little Black Dress Sells For $125,000

The sheer Charlotte Todd dress bride-to-be Kate Middleton wore as part of a 2002 university fashion show has sold at auction for over $125,000 (£78,000).

Reports suggest Prince William first fell for the brunette when she strutted her stuff on the catwalk in the see-through lingerie-style dress.

The item was the highlight of the Kerry Taylor Auctions Passion for Fashion sale on Thursday.

Todd, who has never met Middleton in person, tells People.com she designed the dress as part of her St. Andrews University course work and had no idea she would become part of the royal dating story.

She says, "Everyone says that the fashion show was when the romance started and when she (Middleton) bagged her prince, so a small part of me will always be part of royal history. It's madness."

Prince William and Catherine Middleton visit Northern Ireland

Prince William and Catherine Middleton have spent the day in Northern Ireland on an unannounced visit.

The visit follows on from their engagements at Anglesey in Wales and St. Andrews in Scotland.

In Belfast today Prince William and Catherine were greeted by well-wishers outside City Hall.

The Prince and Miss Middleton spontaneously celebrated Shrove Tuesday with the crowds by tossing a pancake or two with children who were taking part in the activity to raise money for the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund.

After taking part himself, Prince William passed the frying pan to Miss Middleton and urged her to try, which she did, to the delight of onlookers.

Later the couple met Lord Mayor Pat Convery, Dame Mary Peters, the Lord Lieutenant of Belfast, and Northern Ireland Secretary Owen Paterson.

The Prince and Miss Middleton then held a private meeting with Mr Paterson at Hillsborough Castle, Co Down, followed by a lunch.

During the day, they also met young people from the Protestant and Catholic communities at Youth Action NI which provides training in areas including youth work and the performing arts.

They chatted with many of the students about their experiences and Prince William presented them with graduating certificates.

The Youth Action charity is a charitable organisation funded by groups including the International Fund for Ireland.

Prince William, Kate Middleton Pay First Joint Visit to Wedding Chapel

Goin' to the chapel...

On Monday evening in London, Prince William and fiancee Kate Middleton visited Westminster Abbey -- site of their April 29 wedding -- for the first time together, UsMagazine.com can confirm
But the couple didn't stand at the altar: They sat in the pew with William's father, Prince Charles, and watched a full orchestra and a 14-boy choir rehearse potential musical selections for the big day.

On the trio's agenda for the private concert: To start finalizing song choices and map out the musical sequence for their nuptials.
A royal source explained to Britain's Express newspaper that the royal bride and groom have been tasked with cutting songs from the service. "That was part of the process...the orchestra also had a few pieces that they had wanted the bride and groom to hear."

Why did Prince Charles come along? "He has always taken a close interest in classical and church music," the source told Express. "They have sought his advice and involved him in the decisions."
After about 75 minutes, William, 28, Middleton, 29, and Charles, 62 zoomed away in the elder prince's blue Jaguar

A biography of Catherine Middleton

Catherine Elizabeth Middleton was born to Michael and Carole Middleton at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, on 9th January 1982. Catherine is the eldest of three children.

Catherine was christened at the parish church of St Andrew’s Bradfield in Berkshire on 20th June 1982.

In May 1984, at the age of two, Catherine moved with her family to Amman in Jordan, where her father worked for two and a half years. Catherine attended a nursery school in Amman from the age of three.

In September 1986, the Middletons returned to their home in West Berkshire, and Catherine started at St Andrew’s School in Pangbourne, where she remained until July 1995. Catherine went on to Marlborough College in Wiltshire, where she studied Chemistry, Biology and Art at A-level. Catherine also took part in sport on behalf of the school, playing tennis, hockey and netball and participating in athletics, particularly high jump. Catherine completed her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award at Marlborough.

Leaving Marlborough College in July 2000, Catherine undertook a gap year in which she studied at the British Institute in Florence, undertook a Raleigh International programme in Chile, and crewed on Round the World Challenge boats in the Solent.

In 2002, Catherine enrolled at the University of St Andrews, Fife, from where she graduated in 2005 with a 2:1 in History of Art. Catherine continued with her interest in sport at University, playing hockey for the University team. Catherine first met Prince William when studying at the University.

Since completing her degree, Catherine has worked for Party Pieces, a company owned and run by her parents. Alongside her work for the family business, Catherine worked in London as a part-time buyer for the clothing company Jigsaw Junior.

Who Will Design Kate Middleton and Prince William's Wedding Bands?

When it came time to pop the question, Prince William slid a very special ring on Kate Middleton's finger: the diamond-studded sapphire stunner that belonged to his mother, Princess Diana.

But just weeks before their April 29 nuptials, here's another question: What ring will William put on Middleton's finger to seal the deal?

Although the palace has remained mum on the topic, there is one likely frontrunner – and it looks like the princess-to-be will be one lucky, golden girl.

In terms of traditions, a royal bride's wedding ring should be graced with Welsh gold from a special family reserve. Since the late Queen Elizabeth's wedding in 1923, the Palace's gold go-to has been Clogau Gold. The company runs a mine in Dolgellau, North Wales, which is historically the source of the gold in the wedding bands.

The gold guru wouldn't confirm any role in the royal wedding, and in a statement on its Web site, Ben S. Roberts, managing director, only made one thing clear: It's up to the Royal Family.

"As much as we would delight in this tradition being continued with Prince William and Miss Middleton's wedding jewelry, and also for many generations to come, the Palace, understandably, are simply not in a position to confirm," he said. "Consequently, it is the case that we will have to wait until the wedding day, on Friday 29th April, or shortly thereafter, until there is an official response on the subject from the Palace or the newlyweds themselves."

Typically, G. Collins & Sons Limited, the official jeweler of the Crown, is the palace's source for royal accessories. The family-run company has been bejeweling the Queen since 2000 as her personal jeweler and stepped up as Crown Jeweler in 2007.

Before 2007, Garrard & Co held the honor since 1843, designing signature Palace pieces, including Queen Mary's Durbar Tiara, the King George IV State Diadem and Diana's iconic engagement ring, now passed down to Middleton.

Report: Kate Middleton To Wear Alexander McQueen for Royal Wedding

Since Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement in November, the fashion world has been waiting with bated breath to hear who would design the wedding dress for the princess-to-be.
Now London's Sunday Times and Daily Telegraph are reporting that Middleton, 29, will be wearing a gown designed by Sarah Burton from the house of Alexander McQueen when she walks down the aisle on April 29.
"The design of the dress [will] be a combination of Miss Middleton's own ideas and Mrs Burton's quirky interpretation of high fashion," reports the Telegraph, adding that Burton was "chosen for the discretion afforded by her relatively low profile, as well as for her alternative take on elegance."

How Kate Middleton Is Prepping Her "Secret" Royal Wardrobe?

The pomp and circumstance prep is well underway!

Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding is in less than eight weeks -- and it seems that half of London is hard at work preparing for the big day.

With the dress currently being handcrafted in two secret locations (including a private suite within Clarence House), and the tiara waiting patiently in a Mayfair-based vault, everything is going according to meticulous plan.
I took a tour of Westminster Abbey this week, and the place was buzzing! No detail there is going ignored.

Every inch of the royal peculiar is being buffed to camera-ready perfection, with the High Altar cloth already away for refurbishment (no small feat -- it's over 15 meters long!).

And a source tells me that Kate, 29, and William, 28, have finally decided on the hymn selections -- which mean that the young choir can now begin secret, after-dark rehearsals.
cross town, in London's Chelsea neighborhood, the newly blacked-out windows of a private street-level office say it all. A royal courtier informs me that this is where the bouquet and floral arrangements are being crafted.

Three companies, including royal florist Simon J. Lycett Ltd., are thought to be responsible for the wedding day blooms. The theme? English country garden, of course.

And Kate doesn't just have the wedding to worry about: there's also an entire royal wardrobe to prepare.
Though she has no stylist, I've learned that princess-to-be has enlisted the help of friend, and owner of Moda Rosa, Rosie Wild, to select outfits for future engagements.

"This is Kate's favorite shop," says a source of the Arlesford-based boutique. "Many of those fabulous Temperly, Jenny Packham and Issa dresses were all bought here. It's Kate's secret fashion spot.

"Rosie is helping pull together a whole new wardrobe for the honeymoon and [royal visit to] Canada. Kate will make the final decision on everything."
Having run Us Weekly's overseas bureau for four years, I've experienced my fair share of A-list births, adoptions and marriages, but nothing has come close to the hysteria surrounding the royal wedding.

Nevertheless, Kate seems to be taking it all in her stride. As a palace source recently put it to me: "One billion people may be watching on April 29, but Kate's focus will be on just one of them. William."

Prince William, Kate Middleton Launch Royal Wedding Website

On Tuesday, St. James Palace launched the official Royal Wedding website -- http://www.officialroyalwedding2011.org/ -- to lead up to the April 29 nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Compiling social media regarding the big day (Flickr, Facebook and YouTube accounts), the site "will be regularly updated with exclusive content, including photo galleries, features, videos and links to important information for visitors on the day," according to a new note posted Tuesday.

Obama on the D-list?!

Unless something went terribly wrong at the post office, president Obama and Michelle will not be attending the royal wedding.

Prince William and Kate Middleton claim that they want their wedding party to take place infront of “ordinary citizens” – hence the invitation sent out to David and Victoria Beckham, Elton john, and the King of Bahrain.

Here's what a St. James Palace spokesman had to say about it: "The wedding will not be a formal state occasion since Prince William is neither the sovereign nor the heir to the throne". And here's what a senior courtier had to say about the President's exclusion from the wedding: "It is certainly not the case that all foreign heads of state will be excluded.

The guest list is still being drawn up and could change, but as things stand it's right (to say the Obamas will not be invited)”. The guest list includes 2000 guests, where few heads of state are likely to be invited as it’s not a “state occasion” but the exception to that rule was Nicolas Sarkozy of France, leaders from countries such as Australia, Canada and New Zealand were invited, along with Kings and Queens across Europe such as Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Greece (it seems personal, Obama I must say!).

They’re planning on having the first royal “people’s wedding” and so don’t want the guest list to be full of VIPs rather than members of the public that have worked with him and his 21 charities. On a show appearing on Live! With Regis and Kelly, the First Lady stated that they haven’t been invited saying “Marriage is a personal private thing, they should invite who they want to invite, and if I get invited, I’ll go". At this point, we’re still not sure whether the Obamas will get an invite or not, so I guess we’ll have to wai

PICS: Kate Middleton, Prince William Launch a Lifeboat!

The world's most famous engaged couple turned up in Trearddur Bay, Wales on Thursday -- bearing champagne!
On Kate Middleton and Prince William's agenda in their first joint appearance since announcing their engagement last year: To launch and dedicate a lifeboat!
As 2,000 locals looked on dockside, a smiling Middleton, 29, looked comfortable and super-chic: wearing a feathery hat by Philip Treacy and a three-quarter-length beige coat.

She and Prince William, 28, sang both the Welsh and English national anthems -- and Middleton knew both by heart! "She looked beautiful while she was singing," an eyewitness tells UsMagazine.com
After brief remarks from her Prince, royal-to-be Middleton poured champagne over the "Hereford Endeavor."

The duo -- stealing smiles and glances at one another throughout -- then greeted locals and dignitaries. "They are a lovely couple. He is a great lad and she is a beautiful girl," townswoman Jean Critchley told the Associated Press.

On Friday, the couple will go to their alma mater, the University of St. Andrews in Scotland -- where they first met and fell in love
