Shah Rukh vs Salman at Filmistan once again

Like petulant kids who still hold grudges, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan completely avoid each other despite shooting not more than a few hundred meters apart

There was a palpable tension in the air yesterday evening at Filmistan Studios in Goregaon. Friends-turned-foes Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were there shooting for their respective projects.

Nothing happened. The units on both sets expected a confrontation that never took place. The warring actors kept to their vans.

Says a source, "Salman has been shooting for Atul and Alvira Agnihotri's Bodyguard for the last few days in Filmistan on the the third floor. SRK began shooting on the first floor.

Sallu was shooting a crucial scene and so SRK's entry had everyone on the Bodyguard sets on tenterhooks."

It's a known fact that the two actors haven't made their peace since a feud that began at Katrina Kaif's birthday party three years ago.

Adds the source, "It was all fun for the Bodyguard unit and the shoot was moving along smoothly. SRK's visit made them go into a tense huddle though shooting continued as normally as before. No-one knew how Salman would react to his dushman being in the vicinity."

While it is known that Sallu's sisters-in-law, Seema and Malaika are still friends with SRK, it is lesser known that Atul and Alvira are very close to King Khan too.

"Atul and SRK's friendship goes way back. It was expected that Shah Rukh would drop in to meet Atul on the sets, " notes the source.

That didn't happen. "SRK would leave his van and just go to the studio and shoot as would Salman, who is otherwise known to sit outside his van chatting with his friends and people who drop in to meet him.

The Bodyguard unit finally heaved a sigh of relief after Shah Rukh left around midnight."

Salman takes Bandra slum fire victim under his wings

Buzz is that Salman Khan has taken a 12-year-old named Atif under his wings. The boy is a victim of the Bandra slum fire. Known to keep his charity acts private, Sallu hasn't talked about it to anyone. Only his family and close friends know. Apart from taking care of his expenses, Atif's education and overall well-being is also being looked after. It is all about Being Human!

Salman Khan wore the same T-shirt bearing religious symbols (but in a different colour!) at his cricket bash on Wednesday. He wore a white one to Nikhil Dwivedi's wedding reception on Monday. Wonder in how many more hues he has the same T-shirt!

Salman to hit the gym, won't watch Ind-Pak clash

Trust Salman Khan to be different. While most of India and B-Town will be watching the India-Pakistan World Cup semi final, Sallu will pump iron at his gym at his farmhouse in Panvel. And it isn't for any film.

Not as interested in the game

"Salman has never been as interested in cricket as his brothers Sohail (who's watching the match at home) and Arbaaz (who's flying to Mohali with sis Arpita).

He has been staying alone at his Panvel farmhouse for the last few days working out at his specially constructed gym for two hours each day."

He might be coming back today but not to watch the match.

Nikhil Dwivedi's reception: Salman came, Shah Rukh didn't

Nikhil Dwivedi's marriage reception was held at a rooftop lounge bar on Linking Road on Monday. The actor tied the knot with Gaurie Pandit on March 7. While Nikhil preferred to wear a waistcoat, his bride kept it simple in a black dress. Among the first to arrive were Arbaaz Khan and Farah Khan (we overheard her telling Gaurie that she was underdressed for the occasion). Shirish Kunder walked in later and stayed till late while Salman Khan dropped by, post-midnight.

Salman Khan cycled from his home at Bandra to RK Studios at Chembur on Saturday for the shoot of Preity Zinta's Guinness World Records -- Ab India Todega. As reported 'In a tearing hurry'; Hitlist, March 15) Sallu features in the show and will part of the finale episode which will air after a couple of weeks.

Meet your new Khatron Ke Khladi host: Salman Khan

Dabangg star quietly shoots for Khatron Ke Khiladi 4 promo. Akshay is caught unaware!

Salman Khan is hot property on TV. There's no denying that. That said, Akshay Kumar is no pushover, either.

So imagine the shock Akki was in for when he heard from friends that Salman Khan had ousted him as host of the upcoming fourth season of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.

According to a source, the Dabangg star is already on for KKK4. "Salman shot a promo for KKK4 in Bangkok while shooting for Bhushan Kumar's Ready. He would never shoot a promo unless he had signed a contract.

The channel is debating on how to break the news to Akshay who was kicked about hosting the show's fourth season."

A source explains the shift in loyalties. "After successful runs with 10 Ka Dum and Bigg Boss 4 and his runaway hit, Dabangg, Salman is on a hot streak. He's friends with Colors' head, Ashwini Yardi.

He has hinted on giving them a bargain a double deal for Big Boss 5 and KKK 4. The clincher could be BB4's higher TRPs than Akshay has ever had on his show for the same channel."

Exit clause

These factors have convinced the channel to do a rethink despite signing AK to host KKK4. Apparently, both the actor and the channel have an exit clause where one can opt out of the deal without having to break it.

Colors is exploring this clause as Akki has already shot for a promo for KKK4 in South Africa in February.

Says a source close to Akshay, "He has heard the rumours of Salman replacing him but is choosing not to believe them till the channel tells him so.

He refuses to believe that Salman would do something so underhand."

When asked to comment, Ashwini Yardi says, "I cannot say anything at this point." While Akki and Sallu remained unavailable for comment.

Me want More!

For Sony's 10 Ka Dum, Salman was paid Rs 90 crore for 100 episodes. When he realised that Akshay was being paid Rs 1.5 crore for 16 episodes to host Colors' Khatron Ke Khiladi, he was upset.

Sallu refused to come on the sets until his price was hiked. Sony was in a fix. The show with Salman had already been announced and the promos were to soon go on air.

It was finally agreed that Salman should be paid a crore per episode, making him richer by Rs 104 crore for 100 episodes!

Katrina is trying to woo Salman

Katrina Kaif doesn't want to get back together but to get on board a film starring Salman Khan

THE RUMOURS:

1 Salman Khan wants ex Katrina Kaif back and was wooing her with flowers, phone calls and SMSes.

2 This week, the buzz is that Kat wants to be back in Sallu's life!

THE FACTS: Katrina's Tees Maar Khan tanked. Dostana 2 is on the backburner. Her film with Hrithik Roshan is complete. Ayaan Mukherjee's film with Ranbir Kapoor has Deepika Padukone in the lead. She has no film with any of the Khans. All that remains, is a Kabir Khan project for Yash Raj with Sallu in the lead.

But to bag that role, she needs to patch up with her ex, at least professionally, as he has the last word in the matter. She has sent him several texts and has even asked Sal's sis Alvira Agnihotri to put in a

good word, irritating the actor's family and friends to no end.

THE REASONS: While Katrina is a YRF favourite, Sallu is calling the shots for this particular film. To get the actor on board, Aditya Chopra visited him at his residence several times to persuade him to do the film. Kabir went to Pune on the sets of Bodyguard to convince the actor. So, Sallu's choice will matter.

THE NAYSAYER: The actress' friend says, "She is in touch with Kabir but his film hasn't been offered to her. She remains fond of him but they haven't been in touch for months now. She was even offered Alvira's Bodyguard but she refused as she feels they need some time and space apart from each other before they can do another film together again."

Salman's the human!

Helped out people affected by recent Bandra blaze on hearing about it

Though he wasn't in Mumbai at the time, Salman Khan swung into action as soon as he heard about the destruction caused by the Bandra blaze.

Through his Being Human foundation, he arranged for the distribution of food packets and clothing to around 1,500 people who lost their homes.

Says a source, "Salman wasted no time in rushing relief. He was extremely concerned about what had happened. As soon as he realised the magnitude of the loss, he told his volunteers to get going."

Adds the source, "He was not keen to publicise that the aid was from Salman Khan. Several of the blaze hit, however, only later realised that it was from the star! They couldn't help thanking him then."

Adds the source, "Bhai does not want to talk about it. But those close to him know how he coordinated the relief measures within hours of the tragedy. He was even more concerned as it happened in Bandra a place where he resides."

The star, who's has been shooting in Thailand for Ready, had flown into Vizag over the weekend for the Celebrity Cricket League curtain raiser event.

Past Good Work

>> In July 2010, Salman Khan had organised a three-day eye-care camp in Jaffna and Vuvuniya in war-torn eastern Sri Lanka. Five eye surgeons were flown in from India with 1,000 pairs of lenses, after-care medication

and equipment required for surgery.

>> In April 2010 during the shooting of Dabangg in Wai, Maharashtra, Salman called a doctor from Mumbai and

asked him to attend to the aged on the verge of losing their eyesight. He personally supervised the entire operation and made sure they got proper post-treatment care. Those with cataract were taken to Pune for operation.

>> Around the same time he distributed 100 cycles to students from a school in Wai that consisted of poor students from neighbouring villages.

BANDRA BLAZE

A major blaze engulfed the Garib Nagar slums adjoining the Bandra railway station (east) on Friday night. Though there were no human casualties, the fire has rendered over 1,500 families, including Slumdog Millionaire child actor Rubina and her family, homeless.

Salman is a 'Dheela Character'

Salman Khan is a 'Dheela character', if you go by the funnily titled song in his next film 'Ready'. And the number, which was shot in Bangkok, even has Sallu amused.

'Dheela character' is aimed at describing Salman's character in the comedy, which is being directed by Anees Bazmee. Complete with amusing lyrics and Salman's typical dance moves, the song was shot with 100 dancers who were especially flown from Mumbai to Bangkok, said a source.

"Shot a song called Mein karoon toh saala character dhila hai. Hehehe," Salman posted on his Twitter page after shooting the song last week.

Two choreographers - Raju Khan and Mudassar Khan - have worked together on the song to give it a truly Bollywood feel.

We're waiting to check this song out now, can't wait for Salman's moves after 'Dabangg'!
