Will Boom be re-released with Katrina's lovemaking scenes?

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has refuted reports that her debut film 'Boom' will be re-released in a DVD with never seen before intimate scenes involving her and co-star Gulshan Grover.

"That is not true. It is false information. The rights of the DVD are with Hindujas and it remains with them. They are not distributing or re-distributing it, " Katrina said in an interview.

Recently, a distributor claimed to be re-release 'Boom' with never seen before explicit footage featuring her and Grover in UK, USA and the Gulf region saying that the movie did not get its due when it released as it was ahead of its time.

Speculations were rife that Katrina's lip-locking scenes with Grover were chopped off from the film's initial DVD as her beau Salman Khan had compelled the makers to do away with the kissing portion. Besides Grover and Katrina, 'Boom' featured Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Padma Lakshmi, Madhu Sapre and Zeenat Aman.

Directed by filmmaker Kaizad Gustad, the film sought to exhibit the glamour world's connection with the underworld. However, it failed miserably at the box-office. With gossip mills abuzz that she would be part of Aditya Chopra's 'Dhoom 3' opposite actor Aamir Khan and Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Heroine', the 26-year-old actress said, "These are all rumours that go around and speculate. I have no idea about the film offers."

"I am working on 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'. Besides that there are no other films in hand, " added Katrina, who is endorsing Lux's new variant 'Lux Fresh Splash'.

To query on her sister Isabelle's acting debut in Bollywood, Katrina said, "She is interested in films but at the moment she is New York. We would see when she comes back. It is premature to talk about it. There is no conversation about it happening right now."

In Zoya Akhtar's 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', which is a male bonding road story about three friends on the lines of 'Dil Chahta Hai', the 'Rajneeti' actress will be seen along actors Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Kalki Koechlin. The film is slated to release on June 24.

In Aditya Chopra's 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan', Katrina will share screen space with Imran Khan and Ali Zafar. 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan', a romantic comedy set around a love triangle, is set to release in July this year.

THE RUMOURS:

1 Salman Khan wants ex Katrina Kaif back and was wooing her with flowers, phone calls and SMSes.

2 This week, the buzz is that Kat wants to be back in Sallu's life!

THE FACTS: Katrina's Tees Maar Khan tanked. Dostana 2 is on the backburner. Her film with Hrithik Roshan is complete. Ayaan Mukherjee's film with Ranbir Kapoor has Deepika Padukone in the lead. She has no film with any of the Khans. All that remains, is a Kabir Khan project for Yash Raj with Sallu in the lead.

But to bag that role, she needs to patch up with her ex, at least professionally, as he has the last word in the matter. She has sent him several texts and has even asked Sal's sis Alvira Agnihotri to put in a

good word, irritating the actor's family and friends to no end.

THE REASONS: While Katrina is a YRF favourite, Sallu is calling the shots for this particular film. To get the actor on board, Aditya Chopra visited him at his residence several times to persuade him to do the film. Kabir went to Pune on the sets of Bodyguard to convince the actor. So, Sallu's choice will matter.

THE NAYSAYER: The actress' friend says, "She is in touch with Kabir but his film hasn't been offered to her. She remains fond of him but they haven't been in touch for months now. She was even offered Alvira's Bodyguard but she refused as she feels they need some time and space apart from each other before they can do another film together again."

Katrina's big escape

Katrina Kaif sure has Lady Luck by her side. The actress was performing at a private function in Chandigarh recently, when income-tax officials landed up for questioning. As soon as the actress got a whiff of their arrival, she made a quick exit from the venue, cutting short her performance. A source reveals that the IT department is keen on keeping a tab on her profits from performing at weddings and shows. Things are proving to be tough for her. Ouch!

'My give away list is ready'

As the Barbie doll range of the first Asian actress readies to hit the market, Katrina Kaif prioritises whom to give her first batch of barbies

Katrina Kaif look-alike Barbie Dolls will hit the Indian stores on March 20. And the actress has already drawn up a list of people whom she's going to give her first batch of Barbies to. Topping the list is her niece Maya and Farah Khan's triplets Anya, Czar and Diva.

Katrina says, "The first doll will go to my sister's two-and-a-half year old daughter Maya because she is obsessed with Barbie. I'm going to London for a couple of days for work. I'll give her the doll then."

Katrina also plans to give the dolls to her directors Zoya Khan and Farah Khan. While three Barbie dolls will go to Farah's kids, of whom Czar is a huge fan of the actress, Katrina wants Zoya also (Zindagi Na Mile Dobaara)

to line her shelves with her dolls.

There are other tots on the give-away list too. "Kabir Khan's daughter Sairah," says Katrina, "She's just three but sings to Sheila ki jawani with all the words and does the steps too. That's where my real compliment comes from."

Katrina elaborated, "I will give my doll personally to all my friends in the film industry. Ali Zafar (Mere Brother Ki Dulhan's director) asked me where would he put that doll? But I snapped ” office or home ” everyone should have one doll of mine!" she laughed.

The showdown

The launch of the Katrina Kaif Barbie dolls at stores will be followed by a fashion show and launch of a video introducing the doll. While the initial doll will feature as Katrina the movie star, there are plans to launch her look-alike Barbies in various other avtaars too.

Katrina says, "It's a very special moment for me. It's the first time that an Asian actress has been chosen to feature in the Barbie range. My sisters are more proud of this achievement than of any of my films, which they don't have much knowledge of. But who hasn't heard of a Barbie doll?"

Katrina’s knotty quest?

IS THERE TROUBLE IN KAT-RANBIR PARADISE?

Their sweet love story has hit a ‘rock’ bottom literally, as the industry is abuzz with rumours that Katrina Kaif is insisting on having a rock on her finger. And Ranbir is supposedly not too keen on the idea.

Although the pretty actress has denied the rumour by calling it ‘ugly,’ no one is really convinced. An insider has reportedly said that Katrina is more demanding than Deepika in her relationship with Ranbir. While Deepika asked for commitment, Katrina is asking for them to tie the knot.

A patch-up between the two is not ruled out too. At the moment, it would be more apt to say that they have had a big fight, rather than to say that they have ended their relationship.

If sources are to be believed, Katrina would love to get back with Ranbir, who also likes her very much. But he is certainly not thinking in terms of marriage with her at this point of time.

Well, commitment has always been an issue with Ranbir as his ex Deepika made it pretty clear in Bollywood’s favourite 'Koffee with Karan'. Let’s wait and watch what turn this story takes!

Did Nargis come between Katrina and Ranbir?

Ranbir and Katrina finally broke up last week.

KAISE? The couple's relationship had a rocky run from the very beginning. Their arguments constantly revolved around insecurity and loyalty issues.

Kat felt RK wasn't giving her enough time, while he felt extremely stifled towards the end. After her split from Salman, Kat wanted to give her relation with Ranbir everything. There was even a time when she contemplated going public about their pyaar.

But then, things took turn for the worse. Enter his Rockstar co-star Nargis Fakhri, a Kingfisher calendar girl, who along with her looks had the right attitude to attract RK's attention.

A source spills the beans on how things went down, "It wasn't a surprise for anyone.

Ranbir: I have bigger things on my mind right now, baby! It's time to Kat my losses and move ahead. Lo, maine apna haath chhuda liya. Yay!

Katrina: There's a song that comes to mind here... don't know what it means though. Sounds apt. Here goes... Humse ka bhool hui jo yeh sazaa humka mili

They had been arguing and fighting for over a month. When the new gal got in the frame, it only got worse. Kat was totally against him spending time with her. There were times when he was with Fakhri and wouldn't pick up Katrina's calls. He said they were meeting to see the film's rushes, but later she realised he was just making excuses to spend time with her."

What seemed like mere infatuation at the start, turned serious when Nargis got a chance to visit the Kapoor household in Delhi.

The source adds, "When Ranbir took her to his sister Riddhima's place it was a big step. It upset Kat that he was introducing her to his family when they were still going around. She felt like he was two-timing her with Nargis."

DEEPIKA FACTOR: It is believed that Ranbir's ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone's interest in acting with him was also a bone of contention for Kat. She was extremely upset with the news that Deepika might be doing Ayan Mukherji's next with RK.

"Even though RK and Deepika have got over each other, Kat wasn't pleased with the idea that they would be working together in the same film. She even expressed her apprehensions to Ayan who told her he hadn't finalised anyone yet."

IS IT FINAL? Close friends are of the opinion that Ranbir-Kat are done for good. Ranbir is clearly besotted by Fakhri and has been raving about her to all his friends.

When asked if their love story was scripted to benefit their film, the source quipped, "Not at all. They are truly in love. Spend time with them and you would know."

How will Kat react to bold scenes in the new DVD of 'Boom'?

Most of the people associated with the 2003 box-office turkey 'Boom' would rather forget all about it, including perhaps Katrina Kaif whose debut it was. But now the movie is going to be re-released on DVD, and might just bring back bad memories. The new DVD is reported to have lots of super-bold content, much of it involving Katrina.

Rumour is that the new DVD has as many as eight intimate scenes, including a kiss between Katrina and Gulshan Grover. Kat had supposedly got these scenes deleted from the initial DVD, with Salman Khan's help.

Apparently, the distributor of 'Boom' has said that the new sexy scenes will be included in the re-released DVD.

What will Kat have to say about this, we wonder? Watch this space for updates!

Ranbir caught kissing Katrina!

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, who have always denied any 'special' relationship between them, were spotted getting cosy in an international flight. The duo reportedly indulged in some serious PDA on the flight from Frankfurt to Mumbai on Sunday night.

Seems the couple took advantage of the opportunity at hand and were seen holding hands reportedly. "The first class had many European businessmen, and not too many passengers recognised them. Katrina was wearing a casual T-shirt and jeans and had no make up on. Initially she kept looking around to see if there would be any familiar Indian faces, but when she saw that wasn't the case, she got comfortable in her seat and started talking to Ranbir. After the flight took off, they cosied up and RK was seen planting kisses on her cheek and she didn't seem to mind at all," an eyewitness told Mumbai Mirror.

Ranbir- KatrinaApart from a little romance, they also took some time out for reading scripts. "There were a couple of scripts piled up on their table. They both engrossed themselves in them. At one point they were even reading out their parts loud, as though they were rehearsing. Ranbir later called for some blankets, but neither of them were seen taking a nap," added the eyewitness.

Kapoor boy was shooting for an advertisement in Amsterdam and Katrina joined him there to spend some quality time.

It's high time Ranbir-Katrina admit to their budding romance. They should probably take inspiration from Salman's song, Jab pyaar kiya toh, darna kya!

Movie Review: Tees Maar Khan Five minutes into the film, and I wanted to flee. At which point I decided to suspend every single critical faculty, lie back, and see where ‘Tees Maar Khan’ took me. And I am here to report that it propelled me to a place where I had to search long and hard for my brains, them having been bludgeoned into submission by an unending onslaught of puerile gags and harebrained characters defined by their stunningly slim lines, not too many and not too tough : this is not a film, you can tell quite quickly, which has a long and complicated script.

So everyone in the film is instructed to call Akshay Tees Maar Khan. Including Akshay himself, just in case he forgets who he is, even if he’s the kind of crack thief that can get his handcuffs off in a second. His big task in the film is to loot money off a train, manned by a bunch of bumbling cops. He is helped by his trio of sidekicks, a knock-out bimbette ( Kaif), an Oscar-crazy hero ( Khanna) and a whole posse of villagers. And a couple of star turns by Salman Khan ( all the better to make Kat jokes) and Anil Kapoor ( who else can be made the butt of Oscar jokes?).

This kind of madcap plot where everything ( and everyone) is stirred together till the masala is just right is what Farah Khan did so well in ‘ Main Hoon Na’, and most of ‘Om Shanti Om’. Her unapologetic Bollywood shtick and her large star-studded dance ensembles made both those films complete entertainers : I can happily see ‘Put you hands in the air’, from `OSO’ in a loop. ‘Tees Maar Khan’ could been a corker because it’s taken off from the 1966 ‘After The Fox’, a great Peter Sellers farce. But it is hobbled by poor, tasteless writing, and a leading man who seems to have lost his sense of comic timing.

The two people who help you make it through, just about, are Akshaye Khanna and Katrina Kaif. The former plays a top star desperate for an Oscar, dying every time he sees the famous Anil Kapoor ( post the ‘Slumdog’ win) jig on TV. The latter is an item girl who plays silly with such abandon, you can’t help smiling, not even in that Shake It Till It Drops Sheila Item Number, which, pssst, comes very soon after the film opens. ‘Tees Maar Khan’ will go down as the movie which got her to Kaif to say ‘lakhtey jigar’. No, really. And when she goes` nahiiiiiiin’, in classic Hindi filmy heroine pose, she makes you laugh.

The rest of it is wince-making.
