More join Joe Wright's Anna Karenina adaptation

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald, Olivia Williams and Andrea Riseborough have joined the adaptation of Tolstoy's epic novel.

They'll join Keira Knightley (who has the title role) as well as already-cast thesps Jude Law, Aaron Johnson and Saoirse Ronan.

Knightley and Law are playing the unhappily-married Karenins, while Johnson is playing hunky soldier Vronsky, with whom Anna engages in an ill-fated affair.

Macfadyen (who starred as Mr Darcy in Wright's Pride & Prejudice) will play Anna's brother, Stiva Oblonsky, and Boardwalk Empire's Macdonald will play his wife Dolly.

Williams (who starred in Wright's Hanna) will play Vronsky's mother, and Riseborough will play Anna's society friend Princess Betsy.

Ronan, who has had two of her best roles in Wright's Atonement and Hanna, is expected to play Dolly's sister Kitty.

Harry Potter enthusiasts will be keen to know that Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley) has landed the pivotal role of Kostya Levin.

Wright is returning to period pictures after genre detours The Soloist and Hanna. After effortlessly adapting Pride…, we're confident he'll be able to adapt Tolstoy's weighty, character-heavy tome.
