Obama on the D-list?!

Unless something went terribly wrong at the post office, president Obama and Michelle will not be attending the royal wedding.

Prince William and Kate Middleton claim that they want their wedding party to take place infront of “ordinary citizens” – hence the invitation sent out to David and Victoria Beckham, Elton john, and the King of Bahrain.

Here's what a St. James Palace spokesman had to say about it: "The wedding will not be a formal state occasion since Prince William is neither the sovereign nor the heir to the throne". And here's what a senior courtier had to say about the President's exclusion from the wedding: "It is certainly not the case that all foreign heads of state will be excluded.

The guest list is still being drawn up and could change, but as things stand it's right (to say the Obamas will not be invited)”. The guest list includes 2000 guests, where few heads of state are likely to be invited as it’s not a “state occasion” but the exception to that rule was Nicolas Sarkozy of France, leaders from countries such as Australia, Canada and New Zealand were invited, along with Kings and Queens across Europe such as Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Greece (it seems personal, Obama I must say!).

They’re planning on having the first royal “people’s wedding” and so don’t want the guest list to be full of VIPs rather than members of the public that have worked with him and his 21 charities. On a show appearing on Live! With Regis and Kelly, the First Lady stated that they haven’t been invited saying “Marriage is a personal private thing, they should invite who they want to invite, and if I get invited, I’ll go". At this point, we’re still not sure whether the Obamas will get an invite or not, so I guess we’ll have to wai

PICS: Kate Middleton, Prince William Launch a Lifeboat!

The world's most famous engaged couple turned up in Trearddur Bay, Wales on Thursday -- bearing champagne!
On Kate Middleton and Prince William's agenda in their first joint appearance since announcing their engagement last year: To launch and dedicate a lifeboat!
As 2,000 locals looked on dockside, a smiling Middleton, 29, looked comfortable and super-chic: wearing a feathery hat by Philip Treacy and a three-quarter-length beige coat.

She and Prince William, 28, sang both the Welsh and English national anthems -- and Middleton knew both by heart! "She looked beautiful while she was singing," an eyewitness tells UsMagazine.com
After brief remarks from her Prince, royal-to-be Middleton poured champagne over the "Hereford Endeavor."

The duo -- stealing smiles and glances at one another throughout -- then greeted locals and dignitaries. "They are a lovely couple. He is a great lad and she is a beautiful girl," townswoman Jean Critchley told the Associated Press.

On Friday, the couple will go to their alma mater, the University of St. Andrews in Scotland -- where they first met and fell in love

Diane Kruger Goes Semi Nude in GQ

Save for a pair of vintage boots from Elegant Furs and a strategically placed throw, actress Diane Kruger took it all off for her recent GQ photo shoot, in which she promotes her new thriller with Liam Neeson, "Unknown."

The naked time is an interesting turn for Kruger who recently told Glamour magazine that she despises the vulgarity that permeates Hollywood.

"I love three-quarter sleeves," Kruger says in the mag. "I definitely like it classic; less is more. The thing I despise most is vulgarity, and there's a lot of that here (in L.A.)," Kruger said to Glamour.

She admits to the mag that director Quentin Tarantino wasn't initially keen to cast her as the starlet-assassin Bridget von Hammersmark in "Inglourious Basterds" because he didn't believe she was really German and says she felt like a midget next to 6-foot-something Liam Neeson.

In outtakes from the sexy shoot, Kruger takes off less and dons a little more, covering up with just a sheet and bouncing around in a snug Azzedine Alaïa bodysuit from Rock Couture Vintage.

Kruger finally rolled out of bed and got gorgeously coiffed for the "Unknown" premiere on Wednesday, when she and a Dolce & Gabbana minidress were waltzed down the red carpet by boyfriend Joshua Jackson

Great Royal Weddings: Crown Prince Haakon of Norway Marries Mette-Marit Tjessem Hoiby by Beth Cooney Fitzpatrick

It was a Cinderella fairy tale turned real-life royal wedding when Crowne Prince Haakon of Norway married single mother and former waitress, Mette-Marit Tjessem Hoiby on Aug. 25, 2001.

The prince's two-year courtship with the petite, blue-eyed blonde, the mother of a four-year-old son Marius, initially scandalized the Scandinavian nation. The bride's past, which included a convicted drug-dealer ex-boyfriend, inspired catty European headlines such as the unfortunate "HRH Princess Single Mum."

The pressure to produce a more "suitable" bride to legitimize the rather young Norwegian monarchy seemed inconsequential to the heir-to-the-throne Prince Haakon, who openly lived with Hoiby, the woman he declared the "love of his life" before their lavish wedding.

Public opinion about Prince Haakon's commoner bride shifted when Hoiby gave a tearful interview in the days before her nuptials, apologizing for her "rebellious" indiscretions.

Despite their unconventional beginnings, their wedding was royally traditional. (Although the "Pretty Woman" themed played out again as a charity controversially gave 20 wedding invites to rehabilitating prostitutes and drug dealers.)

The day before the wedding reigning King Harald V and Queen Sonja hosted a lunch, followed by a royal yacht tour of the scenic Oslo fjords hosted by the bride and groom.

The next day, the royal couple traveled to the Oslo Cathedral on streets lined with Norwegian flags, colorful decorations and cheering well-wishers.

Hoiby walked down the aisle to meet her prince before 800 guests that included European royal witnesses such as Great Britain's Prince Charles, Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, the Duchess of Wessex.

The bride wore a stunning, simply cut, long-sleeved dress of specially-dyed ecru silk and soft silk tulle by designer Ove Harder Finseth. Its long, flowing silk train was also decorated with tulle to resemble waves in the sand. The dress, sewn by seamstress Anna Bratland, was a replica of the gown worn by Prince Hakoon's great-grandmother, Queen Maud, to marry King Haakon VII.

Her six-meters-of-silk veil was fastened over a simple chignon. Her hair was accented with a vintage diamond tiara, a gift from her royal in-laws, comprised of 23 rosettes set in platinum and yellow gold.

The bride carried an unusual wrist bouquet, or Brudeloperon, of rosary ivy, orchids, roses and hydrangea in pink and mauve tones, worn on her hand as a muff. The crowne princess conceived the bouquet concept, developed in collaboration with floral designer Aina Nyberget Kleppe of Oslo's Passiflora.

Her close friend, Linda Tanevik, served as her maid-of-honor. Five young bridesmaids wore ecru-silk dresses and wreaths on their heads made of flowers similar to those the princess carried in her bouquet.

The Crowne Prince, wearing the dark gala uniform of the Norwegian Army, had Prince Frederik of Denmark as his best man.

The couple touched witnesses during the service as they doted on Marius, who served as a page boy. Princess Mette-Marit wiped tears from her son's eyes with a white handkerchief, while Prince Haakon held his hand in a sturdy grip.

During their vows, they exchanged white gold wedding bands custom designed by artist Esther Helen Slagsvold, gifts from the Norwegian Goldsmiths' Foundation.

Following the ceremony, the couple toured the streets of Oslo in an open Cadillac and kissed several times as they appeared with Marius, dressed in a white tie and tails, before cheering crowds on a palace balcony.

At a dinner/dance reception Prince Haakon gave a poignant toast in which he thanked his parents for their tolerance, acceptance "and great capacity for love" and told his princess, "your soul glows with light." He described the opportunity to live with Marius as a "gift in itself."

In addition to Marius, now 14, the couple are parents to seven-year-old Princess Ingrid Alexandra (second in line to the throne after her father) and six-year-old Prince Sverre Magnus. The family lives at Skaugum Estate, a farm in Asker, southwest of Oslo that dates back to the Middle Ages.

Jennifer Aniston Chops Off Her Hair!

Just go with this: Jennifer Aniston has lopped off several inches of her world-famous hair.

The actress, 42, stepped out for a photo call on Tuesday in Madrid, Spain for Just Go With It, debuting a dramatically shorter, chin-length new bob.
For her big hair moment (with costars Adam Sandler and Brooklyn Decker nearby), the star wore a clingy black Theory tank to, Celine pants, Fred Leighton jewels and Pierre Hardy shoes.

And it looks like Aniston made her momentous hair decision while abroad -- just a day earlier in Berlin, her blonde locks fell past her shoulders
Aniston's shorter hairdo is slightly reminiscent of her most famous haircut ever: "The Rachel," the Friends-era haircut that helped launch her stardom in the 90s.

That's a wrap: Oscar voting is officially over

Aren't you glad that's over? At 5 PM PT today, polls finally closed for the 83rd Academy Awards. No more ads. No more Q&A's. No more last minute calls to scrounge up votes. The membership has cast their ballots with all to be revealed this Sunday night at the Kodak Theater. Now, publicists, nominees and the media can take a nice breather (well, not really) until the big show.

Perhaps it's just my perspective, but it feels like the drumbeat was growing louder than ever to move the whole process back a few weeks. The Academy considered this over the past year but tabled it, partially waiting to see what happens with the NFL's hope of expanding their season by two games which might put the Super Bowl and Oscar on the same weekend. Meanwhile, the process has just become too long for the aforementioned contenders, publicists and jouros who cover it on a daily basis. The problem is, you can easily argue the two month January and February season is a boost at the box office (and arguably DVD and Blu-ray sales or earlier releases).

As of Monday, "The King's Speech" has grossed $104 million domestically and $235 million worldwide. "Black Swan" has just hit $101 million and $199 million worldwide. "The Fighter" is at $88 million and $105 million worldwide. Even "Blue Valentine," in a story which is barely being reported, has hit $8.9 million in the U.S. (if you had predicted "Valentine" would gross $10 million after its Sundance premiere in 2010 people would have rolled their eyes at you). No one would argue that these titles haven't benefited from being in the awards season game and their subsequent nominations. As a quick example, on the day of the Oscar nominations, Jan. 25, "The King's Speech" had made just $59 million and had technically gone nationwide in over 1,500 theaters. 12 nominations later and it will have found another $50 million by Oscar Sunday. And this isn't just the results this year. Ever season finds at least three to five titles who benefit from playing the Oscar game. So, if the NFL does move the Super Bowl close to Oscar's date and the Academy doesn't blink, remember, it's all about the Benjamins.

Emmy Rossum Dishes on "Slippery" Sex Scenes

Emmy Rossum has no problem baring her bod during racy sex scenes for her new Showtime series, Shameless -- but she does like to leave a little to the imagination.

"We like it to be realistic, but not real, so I wear something that I have called the 'vag pad,'" the actress, 24, explained during an appearance on Chelsea Lately Monday night. "It's like a little triangular, kind of, panty liner that you stick to yourself.
Still, she admitted it's not completely fool-proof.

"If you do a lot of slipping and sliding, it tends to move a little," Rossum explained. "It's a slippery situation."
The single star -- she recently split with Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz, 46 -- also talked sex recently with Vegas Magazine. "It doesn't make sense that the character would wear a bra and care at all about what she looks like when she's having sex," she said. "Sex is meant to feel good, and she wants to feel good."

OSCAR BEST SUPPORTING ACTORESS 2011 NOMINATIONS

Melissa Leo 'cause she's fierce in The Fighter, and 'cause she's got a great backstory (a working actor hits the big time!)

Helena Bonham Carter 'cause she can speak volumes without saying anything in The King's Speech, and 'cause, yeah, she's in The King's Speech.

Hailee Steinfeld 'cause she's steely in True Grit, and 'cause she's got a great backstory (a 14-year-old girl hits the big time—and without the help of a Disney Channel series!) Plus, don't tell anybody, but Steinfeld is actually, kinda, sorta her movie's lead actress, something which is always an advantage in the supporting categories.

Adams 'cause she's so not an Enchanted princess or a Julie & Julia foodie in The Fighter.

Five Things We Think We Know About the New Batman Movie

Christian Bale's back. Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy are in. The Dark Knight Rises is down for July 2012.

So, what else we got? Clues, tidbits and fake press releases. Here's where, to the best of our knowledge, the upcoming Batman movie stands:

1. Christopher Nolan Is Waiting on Awards-Season to End: Bat-butler Michael Caine told E! News on Monday that he hasn't seen a script—because there isn't a script to see. "He [Nolan] said, 'I'll finish it in two weeks,' " Caine reported. The reputed timeline, you may have noticed, coincides with the Oscars being over, and Nolan being done with black-tie appearances on behalf of Inception. (So, hurry up, The King's Speech, and win everything already!)

2. The Riddler, No; Catwoman, Yes—We're Pretty Sure: Nolan himself dismissed the notion of the green-suited puzzler making the cut. So that's that. Then last month, Warner Bros. confirmed Hathaway had been cast as Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, although the studio never actually referred to Hathaway's character as Catwoman (even as it referred to Hardy's character by his supervillain name, Bane). It's probably nothing. Probably.

3. The Inception Reunion Is On—a Fake Press Release Confirms: There's been a lot of buzz that Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are looking to join dream-team alum Hardy. The latest official word on both actors is that they're in talks. The latest bogus press release says Cotillard is signed, and set to play Caped Crusader temptress Talia al Ghul, and that Gordon-Levitt is signed, and set to play Batman nemesis the Black Mask. Please ignore the bogus press release. (OK, how about, please try to ignore the bogus press release?)

4. The Score Is Going to Be "Epic:" Does this pronouncement seem premature considering we don't have a script, a full cast or a movie, yet? Eh. Composer Hans Zimmer said it (to MTV News), so at least it's actually true. (Unless, that is, he was kidding.)

5. Bale Is Going to Bail—After This Movie, Definitely Maybe: Here's what the unmasked man told E! News last November: "Unless Chris says different, this will be the last time I'm playing Batman." No word from the fake press-release department if Nolan has said different.

Nicole Kidman Opens Up About "Rollercoaster Ride With Fertility"

Two months after welcoming daughter Faith Margaret via a gestational carrier, Oscar nominated actress Nicole Kidman is opening up about the desperation she and husband Keith Urban faced before their second baby's birth.

The 43-year-old Kidman tells Australia's 60 Minutes that the couple, married since 2006, has gone through a "rollercoaster ride with fertility."

"Anyone who's been in the place of wanting another child or wanting a child knows the disappointment, the pain and the loss that you go through trying," the actress said in the interview that aired Sunday. "We were in a place of desperately wanting another child. I couldn't get pregnant."

hough Kidman and Urban, also 43, have yet to reveal the identity of their surrogate, the actress is overcome with emotion when speaking of the woman who carried their biological child.

And as she celebrates her new little miracle, Kidman -- who has two adopted children with ex Tom Cruise and 2-year-old daughter Sunday Rose with Urban -- doesn't necessarily rule out having more kids.
"I never say never!" she tells 60 Minutes. "If you ask Keith, he'd be like 'no,' but my sister's got five kids. [Keith]'s like, 'you're not going to be like your sister, are you?' I'm at an age now where it's very hard to have a child when you're 43. We love what we have."

Nicole Kidman: "I Felt So Much Love For Our Surrogate"

In an interview set to air tomorrow night, Nicole Kidman talks to Australia's 60 Minutes about witnessing the birth of her new daughter Faith Margaret, an experience she calls "deeply emotional, moving."

"Having given birth and then being there to see my child born in that way, I felt so much love for our surrogate, gestational carrier," says Nicole, who is married to singer Keith Urban.

The Rabbit Hole actress also explains why she uses the term "gestational carrier" as opposed to "surrogate" - something she was criticized for in the days following the announcement of baby Faith's birth.

"We were trying to be accurate," she shares. "The term 'gestational carrier' is used if it's your biological child and if it isn't, then you use 'surrogate.' I mean, who knows what it is. But she's the most wonderful woman to do this for us."

Opening up about her "roller-coaster ride with fertility," Nicole reveals, "Anyone that's been in the place of wanting a child knows the disappointment, the pain and the loss you go through. Struggling with fertility is such a big thing and it's not something that I would run away from talking about."

In a particularly emotional moment in the interview, the Oscar-winner expresses her gratitude that after such a long journey her daughter is finally here. "We were in a place of desperately wanting another child and I couldn't get pregnant," she says tearfully. "I get emotional just talking about it, because I'm so grateful."

Nicole and Keith are also parents to 2-year-old daughter Sunday Rose, and she has kids Isabella, 18, and Connor, 15, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.

Ranbir caught kissing Katrina!

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, who have always denied any 'special' relationship between them, were spotted getting cosy in an international flight. The duo reportedly indulged in some serious PDA on the flight from Frankfurt to Mumbai on Sunday night.

Seems the couple took advantage of the opportunity at hand and were seen holding hands reportedly. "The first class had many European businessmen, and not too many passengers recognised them. Katrina was wearing a casual T-shirt and jeans and had no make up on. Initially she kept looking around to see if there would be any familiar Indian faces, but when she saw that wasn't the case, she got comfortable in her seat and started talking to Ranbir. After the flight took off, they cosied up and RK was seen planting kisses on her cheek and she didn't seem to mind at all," an eyewitness told Mumbai Mirror.

Ranbir- KatrinaApart from a little romance, they also took some time out for reading scripts. "There were a couple of scripts piled up on their table. They both engrossed themselves in them. At one point they were even reading out their parts loud, as though they were rehearsing. Ranbir later called for some blankets, but neither of them were seen taking a nap," added the eyewitness.

Kapoor boy was shooting for an advertisement in Amsterdam and Katrina joined him there to spend some quality time.

It's high time Ranbir-Katrina admit to their budding romance. They should probably take inspiration from Salman's song, Jab pyaar kiya toh, darna kya!

I Am Number Four Official Trailer & Movie Review

Aliens versus teenagers battling it out on a high-school campus. The premise of I Am Number Four seems like it would make for a surefire hit at the box office. But it makes the Chicago Sun-Times’s movie critic, Roger Ebert, downright exasperated. It’s sad, he writes, “when a movie casts aside all shame, demonstrates itself willing to rip off anything that might attract audiences, and nevertheless fails.” It all may be shameless, but Gary Thompson in the Philadelphia Daily News suggests that director D.J. Caruso knows how to pack them in at the multiplex. He “makes movies that are cheerfully unoriginal and empty of calories, but propulsive, and Four is in that vein.” Michael Phillips in the Chicago Tribune has the chutzpah to make the comment that many of his cohorts probably restrained themselves from making: “I Am Number Four has more than a whiff of number two about it,” he writes. Nevertheless, a few critics — Brett Favre fans no doubt — don’t spare their applause for Number Four. The ending sets up the possibility of a sequel, and Roger Moore in the Orlando Sentinel says that it “makes this a franchise I won’t mind seeing progress to a second movie.” And Randy Cordova compares the movie with a good episode of the young Superman series Smallville: “You may feel a bit silly watching it if you’re past high-school age, but you just might have a good time.”

It's Fun and Easy to Get Swept Up in Unknown...Just Don't Think About It Too Much

Review in a Hurry: With his mighty vertical stature and distinctive voice (even when he's trying to badly affect other accents), Liam Neeson is tough to mistake for anybody else. So if he's confused about who he is, rest assured it must have taken a powerfully evil plot to make that happen. Try not to think too hard about it, and you'll enjoy watching him beat his way back to total recall.

En route to a biotech conference in Berlin, Dr. Martin Harris (Neeson) is momentarily distracted at the airport and leaves his briefcase behind. Returning to get it in a hurry, while riding in the cab of the improbably beautiful and kind illegal immigrant Gina (Diane Kruger), he encounters an equally improbable accident involving a flying fridge, and ends up being plunged into the nearby river.

After waking up in a hospital without ID, Harris tries to find his way back to his wife (January Jones), only to have her claim she doesn't know him and that a complete stranger (Aidan Quinn) is in fact the actual Martin Harris! This is borne out by the fact that Harris II has a driver's license and a passport backing him up—not to mention a university website that prominently displays his picture.

It's best not to know more than that if you intend to see the film. And you should, if propulsive, gleefully preposterous suspense starring a vehemently righteous Northern-Irish actor pretending to be American happens to be your thing. If you stop to analyze too much, you'll lose any suspension of disbelief. But thankfully, director Jaume Collet-Sera (Orphan, House of Wax), doesn't give you enough space to do that as he speeds from one plot point to the next, ignoring a handful of issues. Issue's such as, it's ridiculous that anyone with a voice as easily identifiable as Neeson's could ever be mistaken for somebody else, yet at one point, a character who has supposedly talked to him on the phone many times can't tell that Aidan Quinn sounds totally dissimilar.

Sure, the involvement of an all-knowing character played by the great Bruno Ganz is wonderfully coincidental (as so much in this film is), but hey, scary, all-knowing Germans are everywhere, right? And while Frank Langella, theoretically in an ambiguous role, is more transparently villainous than he was as Skeletor in Masters of the Universe, the audience gets his malicious intentions long before Neeson's character ever catches on. But it doesn't matter. Heroic, self-righteous rage is the point.

In other words, despite the straight-faced performance of its protagonist, Unknown isn't a movie to be taken seriously. Some may say it's sad that an Oscar-caliber actor like Liam Neeson is essentially doing early Schwarzenegger; we say it's awesome.

The 180—a Second Opinion: Why, in a movie set in Berlin, would you cast German-born Diane Kruger and have her play an illegal immigrant from Eastern Europe? It's a head scratcher on a par with Sean Connery playing a Spaniard in Highlander.

The Eagle, Is a Slow-Moving History Lesson—About Swords & Hunks!

Channing Tatum is not as horribly miscast as you might expect in the role of a Roman soldier who ventures north of Hadrian's Wall into anarchic Scotland. Based on a book, The Eagle of the Ninth, that also spawned the 1977 UK miniseries, this movie has problems unrelated to the acting—its pacing and storytelling simply don't work onscreen.

The Bigger Picture: Having made a movie set in Uganda entitled The Last King of Scotland, director Kevin Macdonald returns to the actual Scotland, in an era of monarchies and empires, for this new adaptation of Rosemary Sutcliff's novel.

Much of the director's filmography has been documentaries, and the period detail here at least feels authentic. Perhaps, given this background, he felt an obligation to be true to the book above all else, but not everything in novels works the same way when presented visually. Notably, it takes forever for the hero's primary journey to start, and it involves a whole lot of talking and explanation once it does.

Tatum is Marcus Aquila, son of a soldier whose reputation has been tarnished by the fact that he failed to come back from Scotland alive with the gold eagle emblem of his regiment. Early on, we see Aquila go into battle against several Braveheart types from the north, and acquit himself well, but he still has something to prove. So after he saves the life of a slave named Esca (Jamie Bell) in the local gladiator arena, he persuades the poor sucker to accompany him north to find the shiny bird, and maybe learn of his father's fate.

Pregnant Jessica Alba Steps Out

The day before Jessica Alba went public with her pregnancy news -- she used her Twitter and Facebook accounts Wednesday to reveal she and hubby Cash Warren are expecting their second child -- the Little Fockers star, 29, camouflaged her teeny belly while running errands with two-year-old daughter Honor in West Hollywood.
The actress, whom a source reveals to UsMagazine.com is three months along, hid her baby bump under a loose shirt and giant handbag while making a trip to a local hardware store with her tot Tuesday.
She made a similar sartorial choice at last week's Help Haiti event, where she donned a flowing floral dress.

Alba opened up to Us last fall about her little gal's own fashion sense.

"She likes to wear her angel wings in the house," she said, adding that her dad struggles to put together her outfits. "I would say it sometimes stresses him out to get her dressed," she admitted of Warren.
